Exciting News: Nigerian Delegation to Attend AOW 2023 and Showcase President Tinubu’s Energy Agenda

AOW 2023 is going to be lit because we’re welcoming a Nigerian delegation led by Olu Verheijen, Special Advisor on Energy to President Bola A. Tinubu, and Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources. They’re coming to showcase the amazing investment opportunities in Nigeria’s energy sector, which happens to be the largest oil and gas producing market in Africa. Can you believe it?

Nigeria’s energy sector is going through a major transformation, thanks to some groundbreaking reforms. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been making moves, my friends. First, there was the Petroleum Industry Act in 2021, then the signing of the Electricity Act in 2023, and to top it off, the removal of gasoline subsidies. These changes have really caught the attention of the private sector and have sparked a huge increase in investment interest across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.

Now, everyone’s eyes are on Nigeria, and AOW is stepping up to the plate by providing a platform for all the dealmaking and investments in the country’s oil, gas, and energy infrastructure. It’s like a match made in heaven, you know?

The fact that Nigerian officials are coming to AOW is a clear sign that President Bola A. Tinubu means business. He’s all about creating an environment that’s welcoming to investors and stakeholders. And let me tell you, my friends, this is just the beginning.

I’ve got some mind-blowing numbers for you. The Special Advisor to President Tinubu on Energy and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission recently announced that operators in Nigeria are projected to invest a whopping US$55.2 billion by 2030. And get this, US$13.5 billion is expected to be invested within the next 12 months alone. Can you imagine the possibilities?

At AOW 2023, the Nigerian delegation is going to spill the beans on their agenda. They’re aiming to increase oil production to 2.1 million barrels per day by December 2024, expand the midstream and downstream infrastructure, and build energy systems that are not only resilient but also affordable. Talk about ambitious goals!

Let’s not forget, Nigeria is the big player in Africa when it comes to the economy and the energy market. There’s so much potential for investment in oil production and refining, gas pipelines, gas distribution, and power infrastructure. It’s like a goldmine waiting to be tapped into.

To make things even more exciting, officials from Nigeria’s new government will be joined by a bunch of Nigerian companies and delegates at AOW 2023. We’re talking big names like NNPC, Seplat Energy, Oando Plc, Aradel Holding Plc, ND Western, Green Energy International, LEKOIL, Olaniwun Ajayi, and representatives of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. It’s going to be a star-studded event, my friends!

So mark your calendars, because Africa Oil Week is happening from 9th to 13th October in Cape Town. This is the place to be if you want to be part of the action, seal some deals, and make the most of Africa’s natural resources. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this epic event!
