Remembering Alhaji Ado Ibrahim: A Legend of Ebiraland

The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, passed away on October 29, 2023. He was a big deal in Kogi State and a real legend. Born in 1929, he was the son of the second Attah of Ebiraland and he did some pretty cool stuff in his life. He went to school in Nigeria and even studied in London and Harvard. After that, he worked at the United African Company and did some impressive things there. In 1997, he became the fourth Ohinoyi of Ebiraland and was known for being a really flashy and popular traditional ruler. His palace, Azad Palace, was a big deal and showed off the culture of his people. But he wasn’t just about the bling – he was also super wise and made sure everyone got along. He was all about peace and coexistence, and he used his wisdom to stop fake news from causing trouble between different communities. He even used his 92nd birthday to make friends with other traditional rulers and leaders in the state. He was also really into giving traditional rulers a bigger role in the country, believing it would help with the country’s security. His death is a big loss, and people like President Bola Tinubu and the chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum are really sad about it. The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland was a real gem, and he’ll be missed. Rest in peace, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim.
