According to the big boss, Mr Abiodun Oni, this move is all about restoring order and putting a stop to all the shady stuff happening in the mining sector. The agency has been asking for the right paperwork like consent letters and community development agreements, but some folks have been trying to get away with operating without them. But not on the government’s watch! They’re serious about cleaning up the mining scene in Oyo State, and they’re not messing around. The Director General made it clear that the state government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, is all about teaming up with everyone involved to make sure the mining sector follows the rules. And if anyone thinks they can dodge the rules, think again! The agency has been given the power to seal off any mining industry that’s not playing by the book. The coordinating Director, Mrs Jolade Omidiran, has a message for all the miners and stakeholders: get your documents in order before the enforcement team comes knocking!
