Boosting Salt and Kaolin Production: A Game-Changer for Nigeria
Yo, check it out! The government just put together a 10-person squad to amp up the production of Salt and Kaolin in the country. They’re going all in to make sure we’re making these minerals on an industrial scale. The inauguration ceremony went down on Wednesday at the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development in Abuja, and Dr Mary Ogbe, the Permanent Secretary, was all about it. She was like, ‘Yo, President Bola Tinubu wants us to believe in our country and develop it, and we’re gonna do just that!’ Dr Oladele Alake, the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, is all about exploring and exploiting Salt and Kaolin for Nigeria’s use and export. It’s all about creating jobs, saving foreign exchange, and boosting the economy, you know?
The committee’s got some serious tasks on their plate, like finding out where all the salt and kaolin deposits are, checking out the licenses for mining these minerals, and figuring out the cost of exploring these sites. They’ve also gotta come up with a plan to build processing plants for Salt and Kaolin in Nigeria. Dr Ogbe’s like, ‘Yo, committee, if you’ve got any other ideas to help us out, bring ’em on!’ She’s given them a deadline of 30 November 2023 to get their report in, so they better hustle!
The committee’s gonna be led by Prof Zachaeus Opafunsho, the big boss of the Council for Mining Engineers and Geoscientists of Nigeria. And Mrs Salamatu Umar is gonna keep things in check as the Secretary. It’s all hands on deck to make this happen!
