The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) Is Teaming Up With The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) To Make Sure That The Extractive Industries In The Country Are Open And Accountable. NEITI’S Boss, Orji Ogbonaya Orji, Went To See The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, In Abuja And Asked For The EFCC’S Help In Making Sure That Companies Are Sharing All The Info And Data They’Re Supposed To. NEITI Found Out That 28 Out Of The 36 States Are Getting 84 Per Cent Of Their Money From The Federation Accounts. Orji Said That NEITI’S Work Is Making Changes In The Oil, Gas, And Mining Industries, And To Do Even Better, They Need To Work Closely With The EFCC. He Said That The EFCC Is One Of Their Few Friends In The Industry, And With Their Support, They Feel Strong And Sure. Orji Also Asked For Joint Training And Development For The Staff Of Both NEITI And The EFCC. The EFCC Boss Said That Fighting Corruption Should Always Be Based On Being Open And Honest. He Said That The Lessons Learned From Fraud Investigations Should Guide Individuals, Organizations, And Countries. He Promised NEITI That They Will Work Together Even More Closely And That NEITI Can Have Desks In Their Zonal Offices.
