President Tinubu’s Global Hustle: From Nigeria to Germany

Yo, check it out! President Tinubu is on the move again, this time heading to Germany after his back-to-back trips to Saudi Arabia and Guinea Bissau. The dude has been jet-setting since November 9, first hitting up the Saudi-Africa Summit in Riyadh and then making a stop in Guinea Bissau before finally touching down in Abuja on Thursday evening. And get this, he’s not wasting any time because in just 48 hours, he’s off to Berlin, Germany for the G-20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference. This conference is hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and it’s all going down on November 20, 2023.

According to the official statement signed by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu will be rolling with some heavy hitters including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu. They’re all gearing up to join other big shots from CwA member countries, bilateral partners, and Heads of International Organisations to talk business and economics. The goal? To boost investments in energy, trade, infrastructure, and new technologies, among other things.

Tinubu ain’t messing around, he’s ready to make some power moves. He’s looking to build on the productive meetings he had with German business organizations during Chancellor Scholz’s visit to Nigeria. The dude’s got big plans for the Nigerian market and he’s making it known. Nigeria and Germany are tight, with their bilateral trade volume increasing from two to three billion Euros between 2021 and 2022. That’s some serious cash flow!

So, mark your calendars because President Tinubu will be back in town after the conference wraps up. But for now, he’s off to Germany to make things happen. Stay tuned for more updates on this globetrotting president!
