Yahaya Seriki Foundation’s Generosity Shines in Kwara State

A non-governmental organization, the Yahaya Seriki Foundation, has given out a whopping N250 million to 1,800 artisans, students, market men and women, and petty traders in Kwara State. The foundation is all about reducing poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation, and discrimination against women, in line with UN Millennium Development Goals. The founder, Yahaya Seriki, who’s a big shot in the country’s mineral sector, expressed his gratitude to the people of the state for their support over the years. He also mentioned that the mineral sector is super expensive, and his company, KURSI Investment Ltd, has been doing mining stuff for over 15 years. He’s really thankful to the Kwara government for making the mining scene safe and sound. It turns out that 70% of the people working for him are from Kwara, and he’s not doing it for political reasons.

The big news is that they handed out cheques worth N250 million to different groups of people, with the aim of reaching at least 1,800 folks from Kwara. Some lucky ones got N500,000 each, like Ameenat Alao Saadu, Ibraheem Rabiat Atonitenu, Adeoye Bola Elizabeth, and Khadijat Sheriki. Then there were others who got N250,000 each, including Fatai Olajumoke Soma, Shaibu Balikisu, and Oyewole Wale Femi. And there were several others who got N50,000 each.

During the event, a geologist named Mr. Umar Habeeb Adeshina shared that he got a scholarship for his doctorate degree studies at a foreign university. And guess what? A laboratory scientist, Salihu Aishat Tobani, landed a job at KURSI Investment Ltd. Dr. Hammed Ayuba, a human resources guy, scored a PhD scholarship, and there were many more success stories.

Even a traditional ruler in Kwara State, Alh. Saheed Sauda Adifa, got a cheque of N50 million to share with his people. The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was also there and he was full of thanks for the foundation. He appreciated their support and teamwork with the state government in fighting poverty among the locals. The governor also gave a shoutout to Yahaya Seriki for using his platform to give the youths of Kwara a meaningful purpose, and he believes that this kind of effort is what builds a nation.
