Ekiti State’s Role in Mining Sector Development
Ekiti State is set to make a big impact in the mining sector, according to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake. He says the state has a lot of natural resources, especially solid minerals, and this will help the federal government make more money from the mining industry. Alake made these comments when the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, visited him in his office. He also mentioned that the federal government is working with states to improve the mining sector and ensure that communities and the government benefit from it.
Governor Oyebanji thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing a person from Ekiti as the head of the solid minerals ministry. He believes that Alake is the best choice for the state and is using his position to help Ekiti. The governor stressed the importance of working with the federal government to reform the mining sector for the economic development of the states.
Oyebanji also discussed the potential for Ekiti to partner with the Minister to benefit from the vision for the mining sector. He sees it as a win-win situation and believes that developing the mining sector is crucial for the state’s growth. He thinks that solid minerals are the new oil and that partnering with the ministry will create wealth, jobs, and improve security.
