The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Nigeria has formally urged the Federal Government to expedite the implementation of the African Free Trade Agreement. This call was articulated by the President of the institute, Mfon Usoro, during a pre-conference webinar focused on the 2023 National Conference and Annual General Meeting of CILT. The upcoming event, which will be presided over by Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, aims to provide viable solutions for addressing transport and logistics challenges. The conference has been themed “Designing the future of transportation and logistics in Africa,” as stated by Prof. Kayode Oyesiku, Chairman of the Planning Committee. Oyesiku further emphasized that Lagos was selected as the conference location due to the overwhelming success of the 2020 CILT conference, underscoring the city’s diversified, multimodal transportation system.
