Adeleke Administration Boasts Achievements in Good Governance and Infrastructure
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State proudly announced that his administration has exceeded its targets for good governance since assuming office in November 2022. In a recent interview, the governor highlighted the progress made across various sectors including health, education, infrastructure, ICT, agriculture, and more.
The governor pointed out that while his political opponents are still smarting from their electoral defeat, the positive changes and accomplishments of his administration are evident for all to see. He cited the reconstruction of 90 kilometers of roads with an additional 45 kilometers currently under construction. Key intercity roads such as the Ikirun-Osogbo Road have been completed, while work on the Iwo-Osogbo Road is ongoing. Furthermore, 31 schools have been completely rehabilitated, with plans for an additional 31 in the pipeline.
Governor Adeleke also highlighted significant achievements in the water sector, including the construction of 332 water projects and the rehabilitation of major water works in several areas. In the health sector, the Imole medical outreach has provided immediate surgeries to over 50,000 beneficiaries, while 345 health centers have been selected for complete rehabilitation.
On the technological front, the administration has prioritised digital innovation and internet penetration through broadband fiber optic projects. Additionally, measures have been taken to reform the public service, address pension and salary issues, and enrol all pensioners in the health insurance scheme.
The governor emphasized his efforts to reposition the tourism sector as a major revenue source for Osun State, as well as his commitment to promoting the entertainment and sports industries. Plans for the establishment of agric processing zones and support for mechanization in farming reflect the administration’s dedication to agricultural development. Moreover, the restoration of the local government system and advancements in the mining sector further underscore the administration’s multifaceted approach to governance and development.
