Committal Efforts into Efficient Governance Showcased By Governor Adeleke during One-Year Anniversary Event

The one-year anniversary event of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State was commemorated with a renewed commitment to deliver effective governance and enhance democratic dividends for the state’s progress and prosperity.

Represented by his Commissioner for Information, Mr Kolapo Alimi, Governor Adeleke pledged to prioritize good governance and foster increased democratic dividends to drive economic development in the state.

At the event held at the state’s secretariat, Governor Adeleke emphasized that his administration had been actively creating favorable conditions for the promotion of creativity and the revitalization of key sectors.

Highlighting the achievements of his administration, Governor Adeleke mentioned the reconstruction of 90 kilometers of roads, with an additional 45 kilometers currently under construction. Key intercity roads such as the Ikirun-Osogbo road have been completed, while work on the Iwo-Osogbo road and others is ongoing. He also addressed the welfare of doctors and outlined plans for rehabilitating 345 health centers in the state. Furthermore, his administration has introduced a digital economy agenda with new ICT and technical innovation policies.

Governor Adeleke also disclosed plans to domesticate the Nigeria Startup Act and to launch programs aimed at improving internet penetration through broadband fiber optic projects. Additionally, the public service has been reformed to ensure professionalism, with the phased payment of inherited pensions and half-salary debts. All pensioners have been enrolled in the health insurance scheme, and measures are being taken to establish agricultural processing zones and support the mechanization of farming in the state.

The governor emphasized that ongoing work in various sectors would provide major revenue sources for the state’s growth and development. The tourism sector has been repositioned into a tourism and cultural industry, and the mining sector has recorded an increase in revenue generation. Accumulated service charges on mining licenses have been cleared, with upgrades of exploration leases to mining leases anticipated to attract more investors.

Governor Adeleke expressed his gratitude to the citizens of the state for their continued support, assuring them of more good governance and democratic dividends in the future.
