Exciting Lithium Discovery in Nigeria
Orosur Mining Inc. is pleased to announce the exciting advancements in its exploration of the Lithium West Joint Venture in Nigeria. The company’s proactive approach has yielded impressive results, providing a promising outlook for the future of lithium mining in the region.
Following a strategic Joint Venture with Nigerian company Jurassic Mines Ltd, Orosur Mining’s subsidiary, Lithium West Limited, has initiated a comprehensive exploration program. The company has committed to invest US$5 million over five years to earn up to 70% equity in the Project.
The exploration teams wasted no time in commencing their preliminary reconnaissance mapping and sampling program, focusing on Exploration Licence EL 43953. Their efforts have already uncovered abundant pegmatites, with lithium oxide (LiO2) results exceeding 2%, confirming the presence of significant lithium reserves. The use of advanced XRF and LIBS analysis techniques has facilitated the identification and assessment of these valuable resources, marking a significant milestone for Orosur Mining Inc.
Furthermore, the company has secured two additional licences, expanding its land position to an impressive 533km². This expansion further solidifies Orosur’s dominance in the key lithium districts of Nigeria, positioning the company as a formidable player in the region’s lithium industry.
As Orosur Mining Inc. continues its assessment of new licences and opportunities, the company remains optimistic about the potential for further expansion in the medium term. Plans for follow-up soil sampling programs and additional work on the acquired licences indicate the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and development. We pegged these licences with a very clear understanding of the geological processes in play and so we expected to find lithium. To then confirm this confidence and to find so many lithium-bearing pegmatites, some extremely thick, is very positive and bodes well for work on the next 5 licences that is underway now.”
