The Nigeria Mining Week, held in Abuja from 16th to 18th October 2023, was a resounding success, drawing a diverse group of industry stakeholders. The event highlighted Nigeria’s abundant mineral resources and underscored the country’s increasing significance in the global mining sector.

During an interview with SAMUKELO MADLABANE, the Mining Events Director at VUKA Group, he shared his key insights from the event. Madlabane highlighted the groundbreaking announcements made at the Nigeria Mining Week, which are poised to make a substantial impact on the country’s mining industry. Minister Alake highlighted the country’s valuable resources, including coal, tin, lead, limestone, and iron ore, which can have a significant economic impact with effective utilization. Additionally, the country is prioritising the development of its heavy industries, with a specific focus on steel manufacturing.
