A Partnership to Promote the Mining Sector – Ministry of Solid Minerals and FRCN Join Forces
The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) have forged an alliance to shed light on the mining sector as part of the government’s endeavours to diversify the economy.
During a meeting at his office in Abuja, Dr. Oladele Alake, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, underscored the significance of showcasing the mining sector, which has garnered attention from both local and international investors. Dr. Alake also commended the efforts of the Director-General of FRCN, Mohammed Bulama, in rejuvenating the agency and stressed the necessity for collaboration to further bolster the promotion of the mining sector.
In response, Mohammed Bulama acknowledged the pivotal role played by Dr. Alake in his appointment as Director-General and pledged that FRCN will diligently work to serve the Nigerian people by altering the narrative and effectively conveying government reforms.
Bulama also brought attention to the challenges confronted by FRCN, including outdated equipment, power supply issues, and a demoralised workforce. He sought the Minister’s assistance in obtaining additional funding from the Federal Government to enable the agency to fulfil its mandate of educating and informing the citizens.
Recognising the heightened emphasis on solid minerals by the current administration, Bulama vowed to collaborate with the Ministry of Solid Minerals to harness the market potential of the mining sector and enlighten the public on ongoing reforms.
