Upgrade of 10km Road In Oyo State by Governor Makinde

The Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, has recently affirmed his dedication to improving the state’s infrastructure. The Governor made this declaration during the inauguration of the newly built 10-kilometre Omi-Adio to Ido Junction Road, which was executed by Ido Local Government.

At the event held at the Ido Clay Mining Station, Governor Makinde underscored the economic importance of the new road, stressing its potential to become a pivotal economic centre in the state. He expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the local and state governments, lauding Ido LG for taking on the project. The Governor also commended the contractors and acknowledged the difficulties encountered in completing the project, including economic challenges.

In addition to inaugurating the road, Governor Makinde promised to relocate the Omi Adio Market to a better location near the railway and urged the local government to conduct a census of traders at the market. He also assured that Ido LG would benefit from the ongoing construction of the Circular Road, which is the final link to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Various officials, including the Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Matters and the Chairman of Ido Local Government, praised Governor Makinde for his support of the project and his overall dedication to improving infrastructure in the state. Furthermore, Chief Niyi Akintola, SAN, commended the Governor for prioritising infrastructure development across all areas of the state.

Representing the contractor, Engineer Okoro of Samchase Nigeria Limited expressed gratitude to the Governor for the prompt approval and release of funds for the project and urged residents to adhere to road signs and maintain the road’s infrastructure.

The development of the 10km Omi Adio-Ido Junction Road is a significant milestone in enhancing the economic and infrastructural landscape of Oyo State, and Governor Makinde’s commitment to continued progress is unmistakable. The collaboration between local and state governments, as well as the support from all stakeholders, demonstrates the collective effort to drive positive change in the state.
