Building Stronger Partnerships: Nasarawa Governor Collaborates with Minister of Solid Minerals Development

I wanted to bring to your attention a recent event that took place with the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, and the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule. During their meeting, Mr. Alake expressed his admiration for the collaboration with Nasarawa State in the development of mineral resources and commended Governor Sule for his support in the construction of a Lithium factory in the state. This partnership has proven instrumental in advancing solid minerals development.
Furthermore, Mr. Alake noted Governor Sule’s understanding of the solid minerals sector due to his background as an engineer and praised the governor’s efforts and support for the mining industry, emphasizing the importance of his technical expertise in driving the sector forward.
In addition to the discussion on the mining sector, Mr. Alake also addressed the recent Ibadan explosion incident, emphasizing the need for an efficient forensic analysis to determine the cause and highlighting the government’s commitment to coordinating security around natural resources, including minerals, forests, and the marine economy.
Governor Sule, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his leadership in reviving the mining sector and noted the acquisition of gold, tin, and lithium mining licenses in Nasarawa State. He also underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in maximizing the benefits for the state.
Accompanying Governor Sule during the visit were former Governor Tanko Al-Makura, Attorney-General of Nasarawa State Abdulkarim Kana, and other officials. The collaboration between the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and Nasarawa State reflects a strategic approach to mining site security and sector development, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing the mining sector and leveraging the state’s natural resources for sustainable development.
