Enhancing Collaboration in the Mining Sector: Minister Alake and Nasarawa Governor Join Forces
The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, recently engaged in discussions with Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule, to deliberate on the advancement of mineral resources in the state and Nigeria as a whole. The meeting underscored the robust partnership between the state and the Federal Government in the domain of solid minerals.
According to a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Tomori, Minister Alake commended Governor Sule for his steadfast support for the solid minerals sector in Nasarawa state. He highlighted the governor’s technical expertise as an engineer and his profound understanding of the intricacies of the sector.
In turn, Governor Sule expressed his gratitude to the minister for his efforts in rejuvenating the mining sector. He also provided an update on the construction of a lithium factory in Nasarawa state and discussed the ministry’s initiatives to secure mining sites and develop the mining sector at the national level.
During the meeting, Minister Alake also addressed the recent Ibadan explosion incident and emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive investigation before attributing the cause to any specific source. He also mentioned the establishment of a committee at the Federal Executive Council to coordinate security around natural resources, including minerals, forests, and the marine economy.
The governor’s entourage included former Governor Tanko Al-Makura and the Attorney-General of Nasarawa State, Barr. Labaran Magaji, among others. This collaborative effort between the Minister of Solid Minerals Development and the Nasarawa state government demonstrates the government’s commitment to the growth and development of the mining sector.
