Tinubu’s Trip to Germany: What’s the Buzz?

Yo, check it out! Tinubu is about to jet off to Berlin, Germany for the G-20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference. It’s going down this Saturday, November 20, 2023. The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, is hosting this conference, and it’s gonna be a big deal. Heads of state and government from CwA member countries, along with some heavy hitters from international organizations, are gonna be there to talk business and economics.

And get this, Tinubu’s rolling with a squad! He’s got some top officials in tow, like the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite; and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu. They’re all gonna be representing Nigeria at this shindig.

The main agenda at the conference is all about boosting investments in key areas like energy, trade, infrastructure, and new technologies. It’s gonna be a real talk about how to make things happen in these crucial sectors. Plus, the G-20 CwA Conference is happening at the same time as the Fourth G-20 Investment Summit, which is a big deal for the German government and business associations.

This trip is all about keeping it real with the Germans. Tinubu’s showing some love by heading over to Berlin after the German Chancellor paid a visit to Nigeria not too long ago. They’re all about that diplomatic give-and-take, you know what I’m saying?

And let’s not forget, Tinubu’s been talking about the need for more German investment in Nigeria, especially in areas like transportation, mining, and energy. Nigeria’s no small fry when it comes to trade with Germany. The numbers don’t lie – bilateral trade volume has been on the up and up, hitting three billion Euros in 2022 from just two billion Euros in 2021.

After the conference, Tinubu’s gonna be back in Nigeria. But before this, he was out and about, celebrating Guinea-Bissau’s Independence anniversary and making a stop in Saudi Arabia for a good six days. Dude’s been on the move, no doubt about it!
