Combating Illegal Mining: Taskforce Takes Action in Taraba
In a recent operation overseen by General (rtd) Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa and the special task force committee, an illegal mining site in Taraba State was targeted. The site, located in Akwana village of Wukari Local Government Council, had previously been raided, resulting in the confiscation of seven trucks loaded with precious stones.
In an interview with reporters in Wukari, General Faransa expressed his dismay at the activities of illegal miners in the area. He emphasized his commitment to curbing these activities, affirming that Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration will not be hindered by adversaries of the State.
The chairman highlighted that the deliberate neglect of revenue generation was due to self-serving motives and urged for a change in mindset. He stressed that the state governor’s agenda is focused on propelling the state’s development and emphasized the necessity of upholding ethical conduct for progress. General Faransa reiterated his determination to thwart destructive elements from undermining Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration.
