The enforcement of laws against illegal mining in Taraba State is ongoing, with the special task force committee, led by General (retired) Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, conducting another raid on a known mining site in Akwana village of Wukari Local Government Council. This action follows a previous raid that led to the seizure of seven trucks loaded with precious stones.

Addressing the media in Wukari, General Faransa expressed his disappointment at the persistent activities of illegal miners in the area. He reiterated his determination to put an end to their operations, emphasizing Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration’s resolve to combat such unlawful activities.

General Faransa emphasized that the exploitation of resources for personal gain has been adversely affecting the state’s revenue generation. He urged a change in attitude among those involved in these illegal practices, urging them to align with the state government’s agenda for promoting development.

The chair of the task force affirmed that he will not tolerate individuals jeopardizing the progress of Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration. He underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring the state’s advancement in a positive direction.

This recent raid is part of continuous efforts to curb illegal mining activities and enforce regulations necessary for the sustainable management of the state’s natural resources. The task force’s resolute commitment to addressing this issue underscores the importance of upholding the law and promoting responsible resource utilization.

As the authorities address the challenges posed by illegal mining, it is crucial for all stakeholders to support these initiatives for the overall benefit of Taraba State. By cooperating in the fight against illegal mining, the state can progress towards sustainable development and resource management, in line with Governor Agbu Kefas’ vision for a prosperous and thriving Taraba.
