Delta State Government Extols Heritage Energy for Community Development Achievements

The commendable efforts of Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) in collaboration with the joint venture partners and the Community Development Board (CDB) have been acknowledged and appreciated by the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori. The Governor expressed his gratitude for the high-quality projects completed by the board in marking its one-year anniversary.

At the first Anniversary ceremony of the OML 30 CDB, Governor Oborevwori, represented by the Oil and Gas Commissioner, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, commended HEOSL and the CDB for their exceptional projects. He underscored the significance of these initiatives in alignment with the Delta state Government’s MORE Agenda. The governor emphasized that such productive projects, carried out with their Corporate Social Responsibility, are instrumental in promoting peace and development in various host communities.

The celebration, which took place at the office in Ughelli, showcased the inauguration of completed projects and the inspection of ongoing initiatives across the clusters within the oil block. Some of the projects inaugurated include housing units, market stalls, and community halls, among others. The Chairman of the OML 30 CDB, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, reported that over 100 projects have been completed, with many others in advanced stages, illustrating the board’s commitment to community development.

In addition to infrastructure projects, the CDB has also focused on capacity building, providing training and starter packs to hundreds of participants from across the 12 Clusters. The board has also addressed critical areas such as employment quotas, spill management, and environmental protection, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to community engagement and development.

Representatives from HEOSL and the joint venture partners conveyed their dedication to the growth and well-being of the host communities. HEOSL, in particular, has allocated a portion of the mandate fund to capacity building programs for youths and women, offering scholarships, skills acquisition training, and industrial training placements for students from the host communities.

The positive impact of these initiatives has been acknowledged by various stakeholders, including the Chief Executive Officer of Shoreline Natural Resources, Tunde Karim, representing the unwavering commitment to the growth of OML 30. The Delta state Solicitor General, Barr. Emamuzo Erebe, and the Ministry of Justice, as well as the Zonal Director of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, also commended the efforts of HEOSL, the JV partners, and the Board for their collaborative approach towards promoting growth and sustainable community development.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Heritage Energy, the joint venture partners, and the Community Development Board has been instrumental in driving impactful projects and initiatives in the OML 30 host communities. The government’s recognition of their efforts serves as a testament to their commitment to the socio-economic development and well-being of the region.
