“Delta Governor commends Heritage Energy and OML 30 JV Partners for Community Development Efforts”
The governor of Delta State, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, has conveyed his admiration for the collaborative efforts of Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL), the Operator of the OML 30 Joint Venture, and the Joint Venture Partners in developing the host communities. This message was expressed during the one-year anniversary celebration of the OML 30 Community Development Board (CDB) held in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.
In representation of the governor, Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, has commended the completion and commissioning of various projects across the clusters that make up the oil block. He has highlighted that the initiatives align with the Delta State government’s MORE AGENDA, emphasizing the crucial contributions from Oil Mining Lease Community Development Boards and Oil Companies in fostering peace and development in host communities.
The anniversary celebration has showcased the commissioning of completed projects and the inspection of ongoing ones. These projects included self-contained apartments, market stalls, town halls, and residential buildings in various communities within the OML 30 area. High Chief Iduh Amadhe, Chairman of the OML 30 Community Development Board (CDB), has expressed gratitude towards Heritage Energy, NPEL, and Shoreline for their commitment to fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibility. He has highlighted the completion of over 100 projects in host communities and the provision of training and starter packs to participants from the 12 Clusters.
Additionally, Ado Oseragbaje, Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL), has reiterated the company’s dedication to building beneficial relationships with the 112 host communities in Delta State. He emphasized the instrumental role of the GMoU mandate fund in executing infrastructural projects for the communities. Similarly, Engr. Tunde Karim, CEO of Shoreline Natural Resources, has praised the leadership of the CDB for driving positive changes in the asset and fostering a thriving community.
The event has also seen goodwill messages from the representative of the Delta State Solicitor General, the Ministry of Justice, and the Zonal Director of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. They have lauded HEOSL, the JV partners, and the Board for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the smooth operation of OML 30.
The colourful celebration has featured cultural performances by the Ughelli Ima troupe, the Queen Odogwa led dance group, and concluded with the cutting of the anniversary cake. Dignitaries in attendance included various Presidents General of OML 30, HRM Joseph Isike the Odiologbo of Olomoro Kingdom, the representative of the Ovie of Ughelli, top management staff of HEOSL, and OML 30 CDB Members.
The collaborative efforts between Heritage Energy, OML 30 JV Partners, and the CDB demonstrate the positive impact of corporate social responsibility initiatives in fostering development and peace within host communities. The commitment to delivering essential infrastructure and support to the communities reflects a significant step towards sustainable growth and progress in the region.
