The Zimbabwean government is set to have a meeting with Bravura Holdings Ltd., a company owned by Nigerian billionaire Benedict Peters, regarding the delays in a platinum project in Zimbabwe. The deputy mines minister, Polite Kambamura, expressed concern about the situation and mentioned that they will be meeting with Bravura later this week. The project, located in Selous, was awarded to Bravura in 2019. However, attempts to reach Bravura’s management in Harare have been unsuccessful. Zimbabwe is known to have the world’s second-largest reserves of platinum, along with other base metals like nickel and copper. It is worth noting that Benedict Peters, although being the owner of Nigeria’s biggest domestic oil producer, has limited experience in the mining industry.
