NSCDC Apprehends Suspects for Job Racketeering and Fraudulent Schemes

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State has achieved significant success in the fight against criminal activities, with the apprehension of three individuals suspected of engaging in job racketeering and fraudulent investment schemes.

Faruk Abdullahi was publicly displayed by the Kogi State NSCDC command for obtaining a fake employment letter from the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Authority (NIMASA) for Sule Abdullahi, at a cost of two million naira. Additionally, a self-proclaimed Pastor Chimezie was arrested for allegedly taking over one million naira from AbdulBanu Ibrahim, promising to assist him in investing in a coal mining business. Atahiru Abuh was also captured for failing to deliver a car to Aishat Abuh after receiving the sum of N1,700,000.

Assistant Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmad Ghandi, underscored that these arrests were made in response to complaints from the victims of these fraudulent activities. Upon discreet investigation, it was uncovered that the employment letter obtained by Faruk Abdullahi for his client, Sule Nurudeen Darlington, was indeed fraudulent. Likewise, Chimezie’s deceiving investment scheme was exposed, and Atahiru Abuh’s failure to deliver the car was verified.

In an interview with reputable news outlet DAILY POST, the suspects confessed to the crimes they were accused of. Faruk Abdullahi admitted to accepting money from his client under false pretenses, while Atahiru Abuh and Pastor Chimezie also confessed to their fraudulent activities.

As a result of these apprehensions, the NSCDC has reassured the people of Kogi State of its dedication to eradicating crimes and criminality. The agency urges citizens to provide valuable information that will aid in the capture of criminal elements within the state.

The prompt actions taken by the NSCDC demonstrate the agency’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and security of the people. With the completion of the investigation, the suspects will be prosecuted accordingly, serving as a clear message that criminal activities will not be tolerated in the state.
