Nigeria and the United States Form Partnership for Mining Development

This initiative follows a meeting held in Abuja last week between the Nigerian Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, and United States Deputy Chief of Mission David Greene. Subsequently, a Nigerian government delegation, led by Minister Dele Alake, engaged in discussions with a delegation from the US government, headed by Senior Advisor to the US President on Energy and Infrastructure, Amos Hochstein. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Investing in Africa Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa.

As per a statement from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Hochstein underlined the longstanding and multi-sectoral relationship between the US and Nigeria, expressing a keen interest in collaborating with Nigeria to attract investments in the mining sector.
