Thor Explorations Reports Positive Drilling Results from Segilola Gold Mine in Nigeria

Thor Explorations has reported encouraging drilling results from its Segilola Gold Mine in Nigeria, with significant gold grades found at depths below the current pit. This forms part of a 12-hole drilling program targeting underground resources, aiming to enhance the mine’s overall life and resource base. Initial findings have been positive, with further updates expected soon.

Thor Explorations Ltd, a mineral exploration and mining company focused on West Africa, recently announced promising drilling results from its Segilola Gold Mine in Nigeria. This follows an initial drilling program aimed at identifying gold deposits below the current open pit limits. Significant findings include: – Drillhole SNMDD011: 3.0 metres grading 11.24 g/t gold at 294 metres depth. – Drillhole SNMDD012: 1.5 metres grading 3.22 g/t gold at 269 metres depth. The program comprises 12 drillholes, of which five have been completed, with further results expected soon. CEO Segun Lawson expressed enthusiasm over intersecting high-grade gold mineralisation at a depth of 50 metres below the existing pit, indicating the potential for underground mining. The objective is to enhance the mine’s resource base and extend its lifespan, targeting two specific high-grade shoots within the mineralised zone. Historic drillhole data has shown consistent intersection with resource lodes, although results targeting the specific shoots are still pending.

Thor Explorations is engaged in gold production and exploration within West Africa, notably operating the Segilola Gold Mine in Nigeria. This mine is situated in a strategically significant geological zone known for rich gold deposits. The recent drilling activities represent an effort to explore deeper deposits that could be mined underground, utilising earlier geological data and mining models to facilitate this exploration.

The initial drilling results at Thor Explorations’ Segilola Gold Mine are promising, suggesting the potential for significant underground gold resources. The findings validate the targeted drilling approach and affirm the possibility of extending the mine’s operational life through additional resource identification. Further results from the ongoing drilling program are anticipated to provide more insight into the extent of the mineral deposits.
