NEITI and EFCC are teaming up to fight corruption in the oil, gas, and mining sectors. The big shots at NEITI and EFCC, Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji and Mr. Ola Olukoyede, made this commitment during a friendly visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja. Orji explained that they’re there to strengthen their partnership and share info and data to crack down on financial crimes in the industries. He also mentioned the importance of keeping their alliance strong, especially with the recent change in EFCC leadership.
“We see EFCC as our buddy, and we’re not messing around with our buddies,” Orji said.
On the other side, Mr. Ola Olukoyede praised NEITI for their bravery and professionalism. He encouraged NEITI to make their beneficial ownership register more accessible to other anti-corruption agencies, to help with public disclosures and to tighten the screws on fraud and corruption.
