The Battle for Africa’s Resources: U.S. vs. China

So, there’s this big thing going on about the U.S. and China competing for important stuff in Africa. Like, the U.S. folks are all worked up about child labor in the cobalt mining sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They’re saying it’s mostly controlled by Chinese mining companies. And you know what? They’re having meetings and stuff to figure out how to deal with it. It’s part of this whole debate about how the U.S. can keep up with China and get hold of the important resources that power the next-gen tech and mobility.

And get this, there’s this new report from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) that’s all about how African countries can get in on the action in the U.S. clean energy supply chain. The report’s authors, Zainab Usman and Alex Csnadi, are talking about how the U.S. can catch up with China and get access to Africa’s important resources. They’re having a chat with Eric & Geraud from Washington about it.

So, it’s a big deal, and everyone’s talking about it. You’ve got the U.S. lawmakers, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and all these experts like Zainab Usman who know their stuff about Africa and the U.S.-China competition. It’s a real showdown, and it’s happening right now. Exciting, right?
